The Hitman Study: Violent Video Game Exposure Effects on Aggressive Behavior, Hostile Feeling and Depression (press release) was authored by Ferguson and his fellow TAMIU colleague Stephanie Rueda. The study included 103 students from a “Hispanic-serving public university” in the Southern U.S. 62 were male and 41 were female, with 98 Hispanics, three Caucasian and two who declined to answer.

It’s official: God exists. The Hubble caught Him out of his home, taking a walk on the Gemini constellation, about 5,000 light-years from Earth. Looking at His photo, God doesn’t have a beard. Or maybe this isn’t God.

In fact, NASA says that this image taken by the space telescope Hubble—which is turning 20 this year—is the Eskimo Nebula, NGC 2392. It began forming 10,000 years ago—which sounds about right because that’s when God created Earth, as everybody knows. NGC 2392 was first discovered by William Herschel in 1787. In the middle you can see a dying star surrounded by some objects and gas.

The photography has been included in Hubble: A Journey Through Space and Time, a book published to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the space telescope.

This isn’t going to be fun, so we’ll just say it and get it over with: the HTC Touch.B isn’t the updated Android smartphone we’d been hoping for. As it turns out it isn’t even a smartphone, relegated to the realm of the featurephone by running Qualcomm’s BrewMP OS. Full Flash support is nice, and we must say the UI has a charming, simple look to it, but it all looks a little… limited, and that screen seems awfully small given the size of the phone now that it’s been turned on. See for yourself: there’s a quick video demo after the break to get you primed for this one to ship sometime next year.

Wrestling manager Captain Lou, Cyndi Lauper’s fake dad, and Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, Lou Albano passed away today at the age of 76.

Wrestling fans know him as the WWE Hall of Famer who managed more than 50 wrestlers in his day, with more than two dozen championships won by athletes taken under his wing. 80′s music fans might remember him from his appearances in many Cyndi Lauper music videos, including “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”, “She Bop”, “Time After Time” and “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough.” As gamers, we of course remember him as the best live-action Mario of all time. That’s not saying much when your chief competition is Bob Hoskins, but at least he was Italian. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! might have only run a grand total of 52 episodes, but that was more than enough to cement Captain Lou’s place in gaming history.

Mr. Albano suffered from a heart attack in 2005 and has been in failing health ever since. He was at home with his family under hospice care when he passed away.

konami has been going through a nostaligic phase as of late. they’ve already released contra rebirth on the virtual console for the wii and plan to release a new rocket knight adventures for the xbln and psn. now after the rumor mill spread news of a castlevania rebirth, we get news that on october 27th, the wii virtual console will get this game. i love the castlevania series and to play a classic 2d version with shiny new sprite graphics just gets me all excited in that “i shouldn’t be turned on by this” way. and for 1000 wii points, you can join in on the excitement when castlevania rebirth hits towards the end of october.
